Taib and His paid Cronies
Blaming others for what they do themselves
Wed May 16 19:08:34 2001
The trip by Ministry of International Trade Minister and Officials are known to
Taib's Number ONE Crony and Crown Prince, Datuk Effendi Norwawi through the
Cabinet Papers. And the details are within reach of Datuk Leo Michael Toyad
being the Deputy Foriegn Minister. The former Foreign Ministry officials
performing all the BLACK OPERATIONS to salvage YAB Datuk Taib Mahmud in this
most critical election are Abdullah Sani and Hj Ahmad Ronnie Assim. The link
with Bruno Manser and to all NGOs ,local and foreign, is none other that YAB
Chief Minister's Special Public Relations Officer and Veteran Journalist James
Ritchie.
Their main objective is to divert the issues of the coming elections away from
the LAND ISSUES. James Ritchie used to help organise NGOs and Bruno Manser et al
to develop 'controlled'
international protests on excessive loggings in Sarawak. The fact that the Chief
Minister hastened Bruno Manser's departure a few years ago against the wishes of
the Police who wished to investigate further is a clear indication of CM's and
his cronies' involvement.James Ritchie even wrote a beautiful book on his and
Taib's best friend, Bruno Manser, who continued to belittle Dr Mahathir at many
international forum.
James Ritchie, Datuk Effendi Norwawi, Ahmad Ronnie Assim and YB Aidan Wing were
deeply involved with foreign NGOs over Timor-Timor campaigns in Malaysia and
producing films and videos for public screening in Kuala Lumpur. They
part-financed the infamous Asia Hotel dialogue which was disrupted by UMNO
Youth. Records of $50,000 donation from YB Aidan Wing for this purpose is common
knowledge to authorities in Kuala Lumpur. Perhaps there are more to this and
East Kalimantan projects that these personalities are previously involved that
the Malaysian authorities have not fully investigated.
Implicating names like Hj Suhaili, Abu Bakar, Persatuan Kebangsaan Melayu
Sarawak, Dr Patau Rubis etc are common methods to incite public anger against Hj
Suhaili Bin Hj Hamid, Datuk Abang Abu Bakar Datuk Bandar Abang Hj Mustapha, ex
YB and STAR's President, Dr Patau Rubis and members of Persatuan Kebangsaan
Melayu Sarawak from doing legitimate political activities within the provisions
of the constitution. There is however no such person by the name of Hj Suhaili
bin Hj Daud in Persatuan Kebangsaan Melayu Sarawak.
The other objective is to implicate ex-Defence Minister, Datuk Abang Abu Bakar
and his followers for campaigning in a style that disrupts public peace at home
and damages Malaysia's name in foreign countries. They hope the YAB Prime
Minister and YB Datuk Paduka Rafidah Aziz(Ketua Wanita UMNO) would come on hard
against Abang Abu's group who are campaigning to win and bring UMNO to Sarawak.
YAB Datuk Taib and his Cronies is well known for making rough actions agains
political opponents. Datuk Abang Abu Bakar's office at Jalan Hj Taha was
recently ransacked very badly after a succesful Political rally on 7th
April,2001.
The death of a potential candidate in Simunjan in 1990 is widely believed the
work of Datuk Taib's family together with former director of Kemas, Hj Iskandar
Abdullah, the father-in-law of the current speaker of Dewan Undangan Negeri
Sarawak, YB Datuk Asfia Awang Nassar. The irony in all these allegations are the
obvious pride of some strong supporters of the Chief Minister when confronted
with these facts because the massive fear effects it caused on potential
political opponents.
Datuk Taib's warning on violence caused by opponents should be taken seriously.
His brothers are known to be involved in bringing a lot of Indonesians illegaly
into Sarawak on the pretext of providing manpower for their massive plantation
projects. But recently the employment of rowdy characters does not seem to be
for simply plantation purposes. With the involvement of personalities like
Abdullah Sani, Ahmad Ronnie Assim and many others, some preplanned vilence
against Taib political opponents must not be ruled out. It is common knowledge
that Datuk Taib and Tun Rahman in the late 60's used this tactics to gain power.
Many people involved with the arson activities under their specific instructions
are still alive. In moments like the present critical campaign period, when their
political survival is obviously at a critical stage, they may resort back to
their old tactics but blame others for their dirty deeds.Abdullah Sani used to
bribe senior Police officers with women at 'The Hicienda' and a Mercedes car to
salvage YB Datuk Wahab Dollah from being implicated in a clear case of murder of
a young girl in Wisma Saberkas.
In light of this background and the common knowledge that the Chief Minister is
hardpressed to gain open support from UMNO leaders that they have been attacking
through ADIL and PAS in West Malaysia and Sarawak, many people in Sarawak are
not surprised with this style of smear campaigns.
A thorough investigation on the recent movements of these personalities would
reveal the double-game that Datuk Taib and his cronies are resorting to salvage
their critical situation.
